Jurong Group Representation Constituency (GRC)

Jurong GRC is a five-member Group Representation Constituency located in the western area of Singapore. In the Previous General Election 2011, the GRC will comprise a large section of Jurong, sections of Bukit Batok and Upper Bukit Timah. Since then, the electoral boundaries have been redrawn before the 2015 General Elections. In the upcoming 2015 General Election. The re-organised subdivisions of the GRC are Clementi, Bukit Batok East, Jurong Central, Jurong Spring and Taman Jurong.
The People's Action Party has served the residents of the Jurong GRC since its creation in 2001. For the term Before GE 2011, the five Members of Parliament are Minister Lim Boon Heng serving Jurong Central, Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam serving Taman Jurong, Senior Minister of State Grace Fu serving Yuhua, Mdm Halimah Yacob serving Bukit Batok East and the late Dr Ong Chit Chung who served Bukit Batok. Since the demise of Dr Ong, the four MPs have been taking turns to attend to the needs of the residents in Bukit Batok. In General Election 2011, Jurong GRC was lead by Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Mdm Halimah Yacob, Mr. Desmond Lee, Mr. Ang Wei Neng, and Mr. David Ong.
