Rahayu Mahzam, 35, is a lawyer specialising in civil litigation and family law. She is currently a Partner at the law firm of Heng, Leong & Srinivasan. Rahayu was formerly a Deputy Registrar of the Syariah Court from 2013 to 2015 before she returned to private practice. She is also an accredited Associate Mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre.
Rahayu currently sits on the Malay Language Council and the National Youth Fund Advisory Committee. She has been volunteering with the Malay Youth Literary Association (4PM) since 1997 and is active with the youth debate activities.
She was previously a Management Committee member of 4PM and also sat on the board of the Singapore Muslim Women's Association (PPIS). Rahayu was also a member of the Muslim Law Practice Committee, National Library Board and the Law Awareness Committee of the Law Society. She also volunteered in the legal clinics organised by Muslim Converts' Association (Darul Arqam). She had also been involved in the Supervisory Panel of the Feedback Unit, Censorship Review Committee, the Malay-Muslim Community Leaders' Forum Forward Planning Exercise (2010/2011), CLF LABS and the National Integration Working Group for Community and was also a Volunteer Probation Officer with the Ministry of Social & Family Development.
Rahayu graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2003 with a Bachelor of Laws. She has two younger siblings and is married.
