Dear Friends of Yuhua, You would have noticed that changes are taking place in our Yuhua division. A new MRT track is being added along Jurong East Central to cater to the expansion of Jurong East MRT station; Works have commenced to expand Jurong Town Hall Road; Jurong Lake is being dredged; Works on Jurong General Hospital has also started; Jurong Entertainment Complex is undergoing reconstruction. More commercial development is expected to take place in Jurong Gateway with the announcement that several Ministries and departments will be moving to the Jurong Lake District. Many residents have felt the pulses of development and change. They told me that they await with excitement a new Jurong - a vibrant, exciting and energetic hub of recreational and commercial activities. While we look forward to these changes, we will ensure that certain things do not change. Yuhua will remain a community that is caring and gracious. We are working hard to improve the services for our residents. We are increasing the number of childcare centres, centres for active aging, centre for medical services including house visits, dialysis centre for kidney patient and so on. Given our proximity to the transport nodes, such services are not just for our own residents; they are for the residents living in the greater Jurong. Our residents welcome the many Voluntary Welfare Organisations and religious bodies operating in Yuhua division. We are happy to be playing our part in making Singapore and Jurong an inclusive society, gracious in extending help to different segments of people. I wish that as Jurong transforms itself physically and economically, our hearts and values will remain the same – that we will always treat one another with compassion, acceptance and tolerance to make Jurong a truly wonderful place to live.
